5 Ways to Learn and Keep up with Social Media

To be successful in social media and in the online community you have to find a way to keep track of the ever changing networks. Everything you think you know about Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social media platforms will somehow be different in  just a few months. One morning as you get online you will suddenly see your platform is different and you'll have to learn something new again or wonder why things couldn't just be left alone.  After all, you just got good at it the way it was, right?

Here are five ways you can learn about social media and keep up at the same time.  You can be assured that for every change that has taken place, or is about to take place, someone is already onto it.

1. BLOGS

There are thousands of blogs on social media.  Find the ones that interests you and then take the time to do your homework. Reading is a key element in social media.  It is a never ending cycle and if you have any intention of keeping up you must READ!  Social Media has endless possibilities but you must always be looking to learn, grow, and move at the pace in which it moves.

2. YOUTUBE

You can learn to use many of the social media platforms simply by watching tutorials on You Tube.  There are some great ones that offer the training you need to get started and teach you the basics. Providing an abundance of information, great ideas, tips, and more that will help  you to be successful with your own platforms. YouTube has an endless amount of videos on an endless amount of topics, so there's a good chance you'll find what you're looking for.

3. TRENDS

You can use your social platforms to discover the trends. What is everyone talking about?  You have to be watching and listening at all times. If you don't chances are you will miss it. Twitter, for example, seems to move at lightening speed, people are tweeting what seems to be a thousand things every few seconds. This applies to just about anything you'll come across, something new and interesting is being put out there and you don't want to be left behind.

4.NEWSLETTERS

Newsletters are easy to sign up for and offer great content. Newsletters can also be read more easily as you have the time. Now, that doesn't mean let them sit for weeks in your inbox. You signed up for them, take the time to read them as they include valuable information and are there to lead you through the social media world. When there's something that has become popular in a certain area you can often find it in these newsletters.

5. GROUPS

Join groups and become an active member. Participation allows you to meet like-minded people. That's the foundation of social media. You can learn from the experience of others as well as share your own. Joining groups will help you grow in many ways. This includes learning about social media, becoming apart of it, and then becoming a leader yourself. Groups allow you to share and have a place in the world of social media with people of like minds.

The only way to be successful in the world of social media is to dive in and start learning. Read, develop your skill and be willing to grow. Remember that nothing happens in a day so put in the work to achieve your goals and be successful. What do you say ?
