FIVE GRAIN PORRIDGE
1 cup five grain cereal mix(or choose any five whole grains such as wheat,barley, spelt, millet or quinoa)
1 cup water plus 2 tablespoons fermented whey or yogurt
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 cup water
1 tablespoon flaxseeds
Directions:
Mix five grain mixture and salt with water plus whey or yogurt, cover and let stand at room temperature for at least 7 hrs and as long as 24 hrs. Bring additional 1 cup of water to a boil. Add soaked cereal, reduce heat, cover and simmer several minutes. While the porridge is cooking grind flaxseeds. Remove from heat and stir in flax meal. Add an organic natural sweetener like date sugar, maple syrup or honey and serve.
YOGURT AND AVOCADO DIP
Ingredients:
4 ripe avocados, peeled and chopped
1 cup plain pro biotic-rich yogurt
4 tablespoons fresh cilantro,chopped
2 tablespoons ground cumin
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 tomato, diced
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
3 tbsp fresh lime juice
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until smooth. Serve over grilled salmon.
